Travailluers de Rusizi AEJTR

(Rusizi Children and Youth Workers Association RCYWA)

AEJTR has has great succes with assisting homeless children and youth in Rusizi. The fact that all are volunteers means that there are no cost of administration, and all efforts are made to assist these children and youths with fairly limited options. As a democratic youth organization AEJTR is doing voluntary activities in a region, which is not accessible for many donors due to the long distance to the capital Kigali. The volunteers assist the youth with income generation and helps them to get back into school. Why Help AEJTR?

  • Rusizi is far from the capital and there are few other organisations helping children and youth here.
  • Many children leave school because of the border with DRC (Congo) where they find a little money by carrying people's lugage. A.E.J.T.R helps street children with income generating activities, increasing the number of children going back to school.
