There are several reasons why children end up in the streets of Kigali: Some are orphans; some leave home if their parents remary or if they are violent; some go to town because they have heard stories of houses for children full of candy but the most common reason is; poor families that are too caught-up in their own misery to care about their child.

• Find street children on the road
• One on One assistance to the child
• Give one meal a day to about children that attend from 8 to 16
• Offer a bed for 3 months
• Talk to and seek out family and relatives to help the child back home
• Re-education: Teach basic spelling, math, handycrafts and sanitation in preparation for school
• Pay school expenses for children that have stayed for a year
• Opportunities to volunteer for both foreigners and locals
