Red Cross Aalborg

 

There are many different activities in Aalborgs Red Cross. Above are members of the board, who are also enganged in many of the voluntary activities. All the activities are run by volunteers, who are always welcome. In Aalborg we even have an Info Shop in the center, where you can go hear more about or activities and how to volunteer. There are also Red Cross branches in Nibe, Hals og Sejlflod.

 

Apart from the many activities Aalborg also have 4 Red Cross Second-hand stores to help fund both local activities, international aid and our own friendship project with the Red Cross in Sagarejo, Georgia. Locally the largest activity is to match up elderly with visitors in the "Visit Service" (Besøgstjenesten). Yet, there are many activities to assist, as you can see below:

• First Aid Samaritans for events and first aid courses for individuals and companies (contact here).
• Knitting groups - making warm clothes for exposed people in Eastern Europe and Africa (contact here).
• The School Information Service (contact here).
• Second-hand stores - generating income for both local and international activities (contact here).
• Integration group Let's Network matching up young refugees with Danish contactpersons/friends (contact here).
• Youth Division (Ungdommens Røde Kors) share the Info Shop with us and runs seperate activities like study groups etc. contact here.
• Occational events and information eveings where you can meet experts.
• Friendship project with Sagarejo's Red Cross in Georgia.

• Founded in: 1863 internationally. App. 1876 in DK and in 1915 in Aalborg.
• Religious or political: No
• Open for volunteers: Absolutely
• Demands for membership: There are no demands but if you would like to support with a membership it is 125 kr. a year.

Finances

• Donors: Sometimes the municipality or funds may support with small granst - not yet this year though.
• Income 2012: 409,169 (Landsforeningen andel = 34%).
• Expenses and donations 2012: 298,817
• Lacks? Volunteers and donations are always appreciated.

 

 

 

 

 

Comments: Due to expenses related to moving the Second-hand shop on Kastetvej, the income rater low but it should pick up now there is a newly equipped store.
